I got this game a few years ago in a bulk buy out of a warehouse in Georgia.  Its been sitting in my garage up against the wall waiting for me to fix it and I just don't have time.   I am trying to thin the herd and shed some projects.

You can see in the pictures that the head and backglass look pretty nice.  The red has barely faded.  The playfield looks just OK.  The big problem is the front of the main cabinet.  Basically the rotted wood needs to be knocked out and a new piece fabricated to be put in.  I have never tried to run the game but it appears complete.  I have a bunch of parts to throw in for missing or damaged items.  For instance I have the playfield apron, a nicer shooter assembly and also a coin door and mechanism that I could throw in.  There is also a half decent set of legs that could easily be cleaned and painted.

Game has not been run in many years.  THIS IS A PROJECT.  Someone with EM experience and a little woodworking talent could make this a good playing game.  This is a classic Gottlieb drop target fest with 14 drop targets!

$100 obo.

I've always appreciated how well your games worked, John, especially in the tourneys.  Thanks for all of your dedication over the years.

Well deserved break, as I can't think of any local collector who put more effort into tweaking and bringing perfectly tuned machines to all the shows consistently over these past few years.   Hope to hang out soon and play some pinball!

starting to plan for a 3rd ancient city rumble at als in deland. details are as follows

may 5th and 6th 2018

als house in deland fl

match play event starting saturday the 5th at 10am, and sunday the 6th starting at 9am

format is as follows-

- 4 player rounds from start based on florida standings, seeded in order. (first group in first round would be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th ranked in florida playing together. then rest are following same format)

- each round honors will be given to highest seeded player in group to choose game or position, and so on. after that game is complete, the choice moves to the next player that started on initial game. following the same format until 4 games have been played in that round, with a first choice coming from every player in round.

- round scoring is as follows for games played    1st = 4 points, 2nd = 3 points, 3rd = 2 points, 4th = 1 point.    maximum scoring per round is 16 points and minimum is 4.

- in each round the first 3 games played must be from each era. EM, early solid state (84'-94'), and modern/current. (tna counts as early ss)
which means that the last game in grouping could be from any era.

- we will play as many rounds as time will allow until 1pm sunday an then break off into respective finals groupings. finals will be seeded in swiss pairings. example being 1st, 8th, 9th, 16th. this is based on 16 people.

- finals will consist of a minimum of half the field. there are no byes

theres no entry fee for this tournament, however with the ifpa endorsement fee and the utilization of the amenities from al we are setting an entry fee of 10$. we will try and round up some prizes/trophies at the very least.

if you've made it to an ACPR tournament in the past then you know that its a great format that makes for a fun but competitive event for all. we've done our best to bring it to a more centralized location that is accommodation for more attendance, as well as making it more about fun than money. that being said, we would love to have  this become an annual event that fills a spring/summer slot in the schedule that is currently void. any feedback is appreciated!

There are few that do what you do sir, and it is much appreciated by all. I know I usually find myself entertaining a purchase of a game I would usually pass up for whatever reason, just because it has had a John I treatment.

2004 APE to 2017 FPF.

I have been prepping games weeks and month ahead of time and bringing them to every single APE and SPF/FPF show.  No regrets, loved having people enjoy my pins and making a major contribution to the quality of machines each year.  If I had it to do over again, I would do it exactly the same.  That said, I am now officially done.  I'm trying to simplify my life in many ways and this is just one of them.   This year I backed off a lot from my 2016 FPF participation by only bringing five games from my collection.  This was like a semi-retirement and I was able to roam the show and relax more than normal.  Next year I plan to be simply a show patron.  I will pay my way in the door and spend my time socializing and playing pinball.

It was a lot of work, but also rewarding work.  I encourage people with collections to make the effort to step up and fill my void for a few years.  If you do it like I do, you will spend a lot of time getting the game perfect before the show to minimize breakdowns.  There might be a thing or two to fix at the show, but the show acts as a shake down to find problem.  At that point I have generally found that just a quick cleaning, ball replacement and waxing is needed after the show and the games will be better than ever.  In short the games I take to shows are the cleanest and best functioning games in my collection for the next year.  The wear they receive at the show is negligible especially if you use new balls and wax before the show.

For those who know me and want to play my games, just let me know when you are nearby Cocoa and we can try to make plan!
