IFPA/ Project Pinball Fundraiser Campaign- July 2014
« on: June 13, 2014, 03:39:41 PM »
Greetings,

You might have heard that Project Pinball Charity has team-up with the IFPA to have month long fundraiser the IFPA/ Project Pinball Fundraiser Campaign- July 2014. Link: http://www.ifpapinball.com/ifpa-project-pinball-fundraiser-campaign-july-2014

Similar to the other fundraiser campaigns that IFPA has held in the past, they plan on treating each of these Project Pinball tournaments as a unique event, worth full value WPPR points, even if a particular location is already hosting another annual event in 2014. Get in touch with the IFPA at ifpapinball@gmail.com if you're interested in setting up an event and we'll work with you on getting it added to the IFPA calendar. The tournament must be scheduled to be played in the month of July to qualify.

We were hoping to set up events nationwide and use competitive pinball as a way to help raise funds for our charity. We have over 24 cities listed and signed up at this time!

We are asking for your help to hold fundraising events/ tournaments in our home state, where Project Pinball Charity was born from it humble beginnings in Ft Myers, Florida’
If you would like to jump in and help by holding a tournament just let me know and I can go into more details as needed.

Let’s make this huge success that we can make it be, to give to the patients, kids, parents, doctors, nurses that could use our special help by providing a pinball machine into their lives.

We can be contacted at ProjectPinballCharity@gmail.com or you can call me direct at (239) 287-5497

There will be an event held at my house in Cocoa (32926) on July 26th.  I have been planning to have a once a year tournament called "The Florida Crossroads Pinball Tournament".  This will be the inaugural event and will benefit the Project Pinball with all of the proceeds.  Look for an official announcement in a couple of days, but here are the basics:  The main tournament will be PAPA Championship qualifying rules and have a base of 25 IFPA points and the side tournament will be worth 12.5 points.

More on this shortly, but save the date...

The Pinball Asylum is in!  We'll be making a formal announcement over the weekend, but we've decided to back Project Pinball in this July campaign by holding a full tournament on July 19th.

Since the IFPA is requiring everyone across the country who does a special Project Pinball tournament to do so only during the month of July, we decided that we'd move our August tournament to July and combine the two and make it twice as big and twice as badas*.  What's more badas* than helping sick kids?

Bottomline: The Pinball Asylum's previously announced August 25th tournament is moved up to July 19 and now has become a fund-raiser for Project Pinball!

Be there, or be square!

Sounds like July is "point monster" month!

Is it correct to assume that based on IFPAs 30 day rule, that all of the potential Project Pinball tourneys will be the weekends of July 19, 20 and 26, 27?

That will help many players planning to travel.

Thanks

Yes. As long as it is on a Weekend.

All these tournaments will be worth IFPA. 25 points each for the Main and 12.5 for a side tournament if held.

I will post all dates and tournament rules and breakdowns for each tournament at http://www.projectpinball.org/events-and-fundraisers/

Well, I got Gooch to add July 20th to the IFPA Project Pinball campaign, so now there will be a tournament held at the 1UP Lodo in Denver....

More tourneys are popping up daily.... I think the count is nearly to 30+ tourneys in July across the country now...    We will make a list in a week or so, but so far the response has been incredible.  The past two weeks have seen over a dozen events added...

July is going to be a great month of pinball!

Thank you to all the people that are helping to support this charity effort!

Great job Jason on getting Denver and possibly Seattle.

30 day notification has been waved for this offering. So if someone wants to hold a tournament for July this still can scheduled and IFPA sanctioned.

I remember someone saying earlier in the year about how it'd be a long drought of points from Points Monsters til Freeplay.   Things changed huh?  LOL    We are going to get a FL player into the top 50 in IFPA points soon, I'd guess, if our tournament scene stays this strong.

Crazy potential for July WPPR points all over the country now.  Project Pinball is going to cause some moving and shaking in the State Championship series all over the country this month.  It'll be fun to watch as the results come in.

At one time it did look like there would be a drought in major Florida tourneys with Game Warp not happening.

With the advent of Project Pinball month, people have many more opportunities within their states to compete. That is a great thing for competitive pinball.

And regarding the top 50 remark,  that will require a player to earn almost 400 points (currently 50th is  396.5) or a player earning about 26 points on average per his/her top 15 tourneys which would be impressive.

I would love to see one or more of our Florida players on that top 50 list.
